Our process

How we clean a rug.

Test first, clean second. That's how colors stay where they belong.

  1. 1

    Inspect and test.

We check the fiber, backing and dyes, and test for color bleeding before we clean.

  2. 2

    Remove dry soil.

Rugs hold a surprising amount of grit. We get it out from both sides before any water touches it.

  3. 3

    Pretreat gently.

A solution matched to the fiber, worked into spots by hand.

  4. 4

    Clean and rinse.

Hot water extraction or a low-moisture method, depending on the rug, then a thorough rinse.

  5. 5

    Groom and dry.

We set the pile back in one direction and use fans to dry it quickly.

What we clean

Rugs of all kinds.

Some rugs need a lighter touch than others. We'll tell you what to expect before we start.

Synthetic rugs

Nylon, polyester and olefin. These clean up well with hot water extraction.

Cotton flatweaves

Tested first for dye bleed, then dried quickly.

Shag and high pile

Extra dry soil removal before any water touches it.

Pet accidents

Enzyme treatment that reaches the backing, not just the surface.

Why it matters

What a proper rug cleaning gets you.

Color that comes back

Dry soil dulls a rug's colors. Getting it out brings the pattern back.

Odors gone at the source

Smells live in the backing. Cleaning it removes them instead of covering them.

A rug that lasts

Grit grinds fibers down every time the rug is walked on. Taking it out keeps the rug in shape.

FAQ

Rug questions.

Don't see yours? Call 812-606-9556 and ask the owner directly.

Do you clean rugs in my home?

Most rugs are cleaned right in your home, but we can also deep clean and dry them in our shop. Delicate or specialty rugs may be better off with a rug specialist, and we'll tell you if that's the case.

How long does it take to dry?

Usually 16-20 hours with good airflow. High pile rugs can take longer.

Can you get pet urine out of a rug?

Yes. Enzyme treatment breaks down the source in the backing. Very old or heavy accidents may need a second treatment.

What does it cost?

See a price in our instant quote tool. For wool or specialty rugs, call 812-606-9556.

Do you clean wool or antique rugs?

Call first so we can take a look. Some rugs are better off with a specialist, and we'll be upfront if yours is one of them.
